Bottomless Love Tub and Drink Tags

So after I blathered on yesterday about Feng Shui, I figured I better create something GREAT to share with you all to redeem myself in your eyes! Well, I did create something GREAT, but you'll have to wait. I am working up a tutorial for it! Don't fret! I have plenty more things to share with you!

I won blog candy from http://inkpaperstamps.stampincorner.com/ that Holly was giving away. She was giving away bottle flags, she called them. They were tags with a stamped mug on them colored to look like beer mugs! They were like wine glass markers, supposed to help you keep your beer identified at the party.  Well, I don't drink (remember I have Multiple Sclerosis, so meds + alcohol = NO NO!), so I asked her to make them coke floats in the mugs, because my daughter makes floats with her friends when she has a sleepover.

And so she did! She also went over board and made the cutest decorated tin! Check them out!

She made one tag larger for the guest of honor. She used (I assume) a blender pen or the aqua painters to color the soda in the mugs.

a 028

These are the other tags. I just LOVE that mini tag the heart is stuck on. Don't forget to click on a photo to enlarge it.

a 029

These are all of the tags. She used crystal effects, Dazzling Diamonds, and clear micro beads for the foam on the mugs. On one tag there was a errant black micro bead. She had the Fantabulous idea to make this tag be the "door prize" winner's tag! Since it is different compared to the others!! You could even plan this on your own tags!

a 034

Here is the tin. My daughter confiscated it and is using it for her "treasures". It is magnetic on the bottom. Melon Mambo ribbon, if you were wondering.

a 009

Cute Circle Circus center for the flower. Platinum Shimmer paint for the ink. Bling-a-licious in the center!

a 012

She lined the inside and made this precious Japanese plum blossom punch art attached to the bottom.

a 014

This is inside the lid. The green scallop circle is the base of the flower on top of the lid. (Great idea! I had not thought of that!)

a 016

What a GREAT blog candy!! Holly was so great and asked me exactly what I wanted! She has great ideas too! Drop by sometime and tell her hi!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Leslie

p.s. Since my daughter absconded with the tin for the tags, I made a new container for them. Check it out tomorrow!

Blog Candy Reminder!!

Just a reminder… Tomorrow (February 28, 2010 at 11:59pm) is the last day to enter to win Blog Candy! For complete contest rules, see this post. To see what the Blog Candy is that you will win, click here.

Sorry for the late post tonight. My friend's daughter is having sever medical problems because of a simple ear infection. She has sepsis, blood clot in her brain, fluid collecting around her organs, but she is starting to improve. Also, I am posting from my grandmother's. She is having some hard times now, but getting better too! God is with them both! Prayer works, my friends.

There are changes coming this way for my blog. Those of you who are long time visitors will see that I have changed the background and buttons recently. I achieved these changes using My Digital Studio! I made the little CP in the address bar with MDS too!

I am trying to get my blog switched over to my website CreativePzazz.com, but I am sure that will be a while away from now! I am trying to do it myself. I am also trying to set up a direct link for Stampin' Up! purchases from me, so you can shop in your pjs 24-7!!

Stay tuned!

Blog Candy Video

Today I wanted to remind you that I am giving away Blog Candy!! You have until 11:59pm on February 28 to leave a comment on the original Blog Candy post! Click here to go to that post. There are so many of you that are sending me emails about the Blog Candy, but you haven't commented yet. One of those people gave a reason as to why… she seems to be unable to post a comment because she doesn't have one of the accounts that are in the list. I know… confusing. Well, apparently some of you may have difficulty posting comments directly to my blog posts. If you seem to be experiencing difficulty, you may post as Anonymous, then leave your name in the comment. I think that will solve the problem. If you still have problems, email me. I will certainly count emails at that point. Thanks for the heads up on the problem too.

So today I thought I would share a video I made of all the things I am giving away as blog candy. I recently cleaned my craft room, and I am giving away some things that I will never use, plus more!

Hope you are excited! You will receive:

  • Over $11 in ribbon
  • Over $13.00 in patterned paper
  • Over $17.00 in miscellaneous craft supplies and storage containers
  • Plus, random ephemera gathered over the years!!

A complete value of OVER $41.00! WOW!! That is not including the FREE shipping!!

Don't forget to invite your friends to comment for extra chances for you to win!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

A Challenge and Blog Candy

Editted to Add: I had some requests about leaving suggestions as a comment rather than actually creating a card. I will allow you to do that. Entry methods have been updated to include entry by comment on my video too.

a 131

I am so excited!! Today I am issuing a challenge for you, and I will pick a winner who will receive Blog Candy. I will post what the Blog Candy is this weekend. I want to put as much as I can into the box of goodies! There will be tons of patterned paper, ribbon, stickers, brads, ephemera pieces (or random objects), and more! You won't want to miss your chance! I want the contest started as soon as possible for you all, so you can enter as often as you like.

I got the fabric shown in the photo above to make a curtain to hide some storage items under my work table. I really love it! So when I was trying to think of a new card design, I thought that maybe I could do something with this basic design.

Here is what I came up with:

a 129

It is a soft suede base with Whisper White Swirls and Scribbles from the Big Shot Sizzlits die. The problem is that I am stuck! I don't know what to do next or if I should start over and redesign the background differently or add more to the background.

The Challenge: Complete the card or leave me a comment with suggestions for how to complete it. It's that simple. Redesign it, change it up, or keep it exactly the same. It is up to you.

The Rules:
  1. Use the Swirls and Scribbles die (or similar swirl type die cut) to create the background or main focal point.
  2. You are asked to use the die for a raised texture rather than using a flat stamp, please. If you do not have the die, think of another way to give the raised texture!
  3. That's it!! The colors are up to you!!

To Win:

  1. For each entry, you will need to post a link to your photo in the comments section of this post only! You may email me if you have problems (so I can help you post), but comments on this post are the only entries that will count. Email entries will not count. If you do not have a blog, you may email the photo, but you must place a comment on this post to be considered. You may also leave a comment with suggestions for how to complete this challenge.
  2. If you have a blog, you can have a second chances to win! Post a link to my blog, and then provide me with the link to that post in the comments section (in a second comment please)!
  3. For a third way you can be entered, refer a friend! You will need to place another comment on this post naming the person you are referring. They must enter the contest for you to get credit for this entry method!
  4. Fourth way to win: Subscribe to my feed! At the top of the right side panel, you can enter your email address to receive email updates each time I post. Subscribe and that adds another chance to win.
  5. You may enter by leaving a comment or suggestion on YouTube or here about my Blog Candy video. Click here to see the post with the video.
  6. You may enter as often as you like!
The contest is over at 11:59pm on February 28, 2010. I will post a winner on March 2nd.

Good luck!

Congratulations to Amy V! She is the ONLY person to leave a comment on my Black Friday post! Amy V said: Happy Thanksgiving Leslie! I hope you had a wonderful holiday. I went to Lowes and got a firepit for $30 and went to IKEA and got a few scrapping organiztional items. Love to show. My ultimate Christmas gift would be new couch or a cricut expression. Can't wait to see the blog candy!

I hope Amy or Dave (her hubby) braved the sales on Black Friday and went to see Wally (remember I can't mention the name of merchants, but you can figure this out, right?) to buy the Chirping Insect (die cut machine) for $188 plus the various Chirping Insect cartidges for $40, including all the 2009 new cartridge releases! Without further ado...the prize for this blog candy is a STAMP SET!! I know! Right? A FREE stamp set! You are beating yourself up now because you didn't leave a comment. LOL

The stamp set is Snow Buddies. It is a hostess set from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I don't have a photo of the set to show you, but you can all look on page 5 of the Holiday Mini Catalog to see what it looks like. While you are there, check out the great projects made with that set. Have you ever noticed how many ideas there are in the Stampin' Up! catalogs? That is why they call the big catty the IDEA book and catalog!

Well, I appreciate you all visiting my blog, and especially Amy for leaving a comment. I am not doing well with my MS right now. Hopefully I will feel well enough tomorrow to post some projects that I have made. I have so many to post. I am so far behind with posting projects! Not to mention everything else.

EZ View Desktop from The Original Scrap Box!

Oooohhh my goodness!! You have to go check this out. The Original Scrapbox.com has several products available, but the absolute best, bees knees, cream of the crop, is the Workbox. The Workbox looks like an armoire and comes in colors to fit your home decor. When it opens the doors open and then another set of doors opens! Full height, top to bottom, storage available to hold anything you choose. Whether you sew, scrapbook, or just need a space to store a bunch of things, this cabinet is for you. It has 85 containers for storage of items. It was originally designed for the scrapbooker, please don't let that limit your interest in this beauty. It is expensive, I will tell you that, BUT it is so phenomenal and made from quality construction that it will be worth every penny. No, I do not have one yet, but I will... soon.

The point of this post is to let you in on a Blog Candy by Andrea Walford. If you comment about any product found at The Original Scrapbox.com you will be entered in a drawing to win the EZ Desktop from The Original Scrapbox.com. This desk top is great placed on saw horse table legs, other table bases (check IKEA, Pottery Barn, etc.) or on other custom legs. Just look at the amount of storage you get! If you are a visual crafter and need to see the items you have to be inspired to use them, this desk top is for you. Again, this desktop is perfect for any creative endeavor, such as sewing, crafting, scrapbooking, etc.
Please visit Andrea's blog to post a comment about the desktop and you will be entered in the drawing to win the desktop!

No, I am not a sales person for The Original Scrapbox.com. I actually have no affiliations with any business at the current time, except for CreativePzazz.com, which is my own business. I just love great storage products and anything that can save money! Winning a Blog Candy definitely saves money and the desktop is great storage. Maybe one day I will save up enough money to buy the Workbox... A girl can dream, you know. (So mu hubby reads this and says I would have enough money if I quit buying chocolate.) Hmmm... a girl's gotta eat, and he doesn't really want to see me when I am chocolate-free! Nobody does! Speaking of... gotta get some now.

Personalized Books and Gifts

Can you believe it has been so long since I posted? Well, if you knew me and knew the craziness around here lately you wouldn't be surprised at all! I have finished moving everything into my new craft space, and it is starting to get organized. Notice I said starting... it is going to be a while before I am through, I think.

For me, a problem of mine has always been new supplies. I don't shop often, but when I do, I don't physically feel up to putting everything away for a few days. Sometimes I don't even know where I want to store the supplies if they are new to me, such as microscope slides, acrylic pieces, etc., so I have to find a home for them.

Organization Tip: The suggestion on several blogs and scrap space tour videos was to dedicate a drawer, basket, or box to new supplies. You put the new stuff in this basket until you get a chance to put it away permanently. In the past, the inspiration of these new products would sit on my table and take up space for days or weeks. Ok, Ok, sometimes months. Well, NOW I have a place for them! I have a canvas basket that is actually larger than anyone else suggested, but for me it is perfect.

First, it give the new supplies a home until they have a "real" home. Second, it has these supplies in a central location, so if I need one of them, I can find them easily. Third, and probably my husband's favorite thing about this new storage piece, as long as it has items in it that haven't been put away, I can't buy ANYTHING else. I used to have Michael's bags and JoAnn boxes everywhere. Not anymore! Everything is nice and neatly placed in this canvas basket! Pictures? Not at this time. It is still too much of a mess for me to share.

So, all that was to say that I am still organizing. I am also working on another project that I will announce in the next few weeks. I am also working on the summer reading program for my local library. I volunteer to teach the reading program every summer since I had to retire from teaching after my diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis. I enjoy doing this, since it is with little children and I taught high school, which is way different!

Another thing I have been working on is my book and craft business. Check it out at www.CreativePzazz.com where I sell personalized children's books and other gift items. Right now the only thing you can buy is the books, but soon I hope to have other gifts, such as decorative journals, wall art, and magnets.

I have a special blog candy for you! Most blog candy is a free gift or item sent to you for commenting or creating an item for a challenge, but this blog candy is sugar free. It is a choice of 20% off your order or FREE shipping (which is a better deal) coupon when you make a purchase at CreativePzazz.com! When placing your order you have to enter the Personalization Information for the book in a form. Just enter your name (where it has the space for it) and put 20% or FREE shipping beside your name. You can only choose one coupon, so if you put both, you will receive 20% off. This offer is good until July 15, 2009. In the shopping cart, choose local delivery as your shipping method, OR pay as normal and I will issue you a refund for the 20% difference. (Sorry, I haven't figured out how to issue coupons yet.)

More blog candy...the really sweet kind and more coupons for CreativePzazz.com are coming soon, so check back with me. I promise it won't be so long before I post again. Thanks for stopping by!
