Canvas Wall Art

Today's project has only one Stampin' Up! product used on it and no stamping,  but you are going to LOVE it anyway!! I want to show you what my next project is: I will be preparing several Wall Art panels to go in a store here in my hometown.  Southern Style, has unique gifts and products that you can have monogrammed. Well, now you will be able to purchase my Ceiling Tile Wall Art (you can see samples here), and I am adding a new product line for Dancing Ballerinas!

What do you think of this?

I took 2 pictures because you just can't see how poofy that tu-tu really is in the photo! These are "Tu-Tu Canvases" that you can have an initial painted on, add a Decor Elements vinyl letter, or attach a photo of your favorite ballerina to the front! They have straps at the top that hang from a small wire hanger that I made (couldn't get it to show for the photo). Aren't these so cute! 

I use 5x7, 8x10, and 11x14 canvases, but the area for the initial or photo ends up being a square area because of the tu-tu. I used a staple gun stapled the tulle as I scrunched it across the front. I did the hot pink first then the light pink.  I finished it off with black polka-dotted ribbon to hide the staples and create a waist band for the tu-tu. I used Pretty in Pink ink and rubbed it across the edges of the canvas. I then took a sponge and blended it in a bit, leaving the center a bit lighter.

What little girl wouldn't love to have this in their room?

I have seen people use canvases as their cover for a mini album. What a great mini album cover this would make! I may have to look into making one of these a mini-album!!

Glass Tile Gift

Today is Part 3 of Best Business Practices for Stampin' Up! All week we will be looking at projects that help with my new plan!
Today's project uses a Glass Tile from a home improvement store. This one is 4x4". It was so beautiful; I just knew I could do something with it.
Since it will be a sample for my purse, I decided not to stamp on it and instead to use a home decor element on it. You could even cut your own design from our sheets of home decor vinyl!

Tiles are great for putting notes, menus, or appointments on. Just get a size large enough for the note and a home decor element and use a dry erase marker! quick and easy organizational tool or gift!

Hot Tip: Have you ever accidentally burnished your home decor element onto the wrong sheet? I did. The one shown here was burnished onto the adhesive sheet. Basically, the sticky side of the vinyl pieces was stuck to the sticky sheet that you are supposed to pull off. I obviously wasn't paying attention to what I was doing. Anyway, I thought that maybe I could save it. Well, here it is! I peeled each piece off using tweezers and placed it where I wanted it. then I laid the transfer paper over the top and burnished it again with the applicator, just as you would normally. It turned out great. Don't throw those decor elements away! You can save them!

Decor Elements Ideas

Today I was blog hopping trying to find out if you can put decor elements in the dishwasher. Well, I have found that you can not. You can wash them with mild soap and water. The information and photos I am providing you are from Lisa V. Lisa made the plate with the flower and said it works well for serving snacks or other food on! What a great gift this would make! Just remember to make a small tag with washing instructions for the recipient!
I would have never thought to use home decor elements on a bed, but how cute is this?!

Growth Chart Decor Elements!

Here is a photo of Brenda Dauphin with her Growth Chart Decor Elements on her classroom door. This particular decor element can be over 6 feet tall. Brenda chose to make it a bit shorter. It was previously available for a limited time, but now Stampin' Up! has added it to their new Decor Elements Add-On brochure. You can order it now through April 30!

Holiday Gift Ideas!

I know!!! It has been a while since I have posted anything new! Well, life happened. Actually, I have been so busy making ceiling tile Wall Art, creating cards and gifts, and having a HUGE yard sale that I have just finally gotten to where I can breathe again!

Holiday orders are piling in already! I am VERY close to being completely booked up. I have one Wall Art order that should be finalized tomorrow, and that is it! I won't be able to take any more orders this season for Wall Art! My most exciting order is that I am making 75 bracelets by December 20th for some very beautiful girls, who are orphans in Venezuela. My uncle, Tim Presley, travels down there a few times a year to help them build an orphanage for the girls. The girls love the American missionaries from Ino Baptist Church so much. There is one girl who knew after the first day how each of the many people liked their coffee!! I know the girls will be so proud of their bracelets and know just how much my uncle loves each of them! So, you can see my calendar filled quite quickly.
