Life can change in a second...

My mom walked in for a routine ct for gallstones on Monday. That night the doctor called her and told her to immediately get to the hospital in Pensacola. They had to give her massive amounts of antibiotics and 4 units of blood. Long story short...she has colon cancer that has spread to her liver. It does not look good. The surgeons were able to remove the affected part of her colon, but none of the liver.
If you are a praying person, and I believe in the power of prayer, please pray. If not, please meditate, think positive thoughts, or whatever you do for a friend in need.
I am so thankful for all my YT and blog friends, but obviously with mom's recovery being so long and chemo to follow, I will have to put something on the back burner. This is what will be going.
As I can create, I will come back and post or video about it.
I think the first thing I will do is create an art journal. I saw a great video a while back about a lady who used art journaling for dealing with her emotions.
I need that. An outlet.
Thanks to you all.

  3. My prayers are with You! Cancer is ugly but just make the most of the time! My Mother died from cancer and I was her caretaker, would do it all over again, it was hard but I sure got to know more about my Mother than I ever knew and we became so close! Take lots of picturesor movies and ask her to tell You alot of stories about Her past and make lots of notes to share with others...especially Your Children! You won't be sorry!!!

  5. Been there, done that with my grandmother. My mother took the family leave from her job to be able to take care of her at home. My grandmother did not survive it, but do not underestimate to power of prayer. God has a plan, whatever it may be. My prayers are with your mother, you and all of the family. It is lessons like this that teach us to cherish every day.
