Photography and Cards

I have had some requests via email to show how I set up to take photos of my cards, etc. It couldn't be simpler. I bought a large piece of poster board and a piece of presentation board. The presentation board is just foam core board that has been partially cut along the half way mark. I sit the presentation board on the poster board creating the white backdrop that people want when taking pics. It is really easy to whip out and use. Plus it stores so easily too! Some scrappers and crafters use a specific type of lighting and a specialty box, etc. I try to use natural light when possible, but if not I just make sure there is sufficient light anyway. My photos rival those of some people who spend a fortune on a camera, specialty light and box, and a light filter. I said KISS it: Keep it simple sweetie.

Here are some cards that I made for different occasions, plus one that my daughter, Sydney Grace, made too! All products are Stampin' Up! Call or email me to place an order today! Sydney Grace made the first card! The second card is one I made for my grandmother's birthday. The roses are really easy to do!! Book a workshop with me and I can show you and your friends how to do it!

The following cards were eqally as simple. The first photo is using one leaf stamp, repeatedly stamped in a circle shape using several different colors. The second photo was made using a stamp set Circle Circus using fall colors. I cut the tree shape out by hand. I just drew a simple stick tree on the back of the Close to Cocoa cardstock and made sure I had several branches. Then I cut it out. This was definitely NO TALENT required. Both cards can be updated to any season just by changing the colors you use! Both cards were very simple, and they only took around 15 minutes to make!

Thanks for stopping by today.

  1. Great tip! I have trouble photogrphing the things I make, so this post was super helpful! Thank you and I love those cards - especially the one with the circles!
