Christmas Cards and Inspiration!

Today I thought I would show the only handmade Christmas card I got this year. It was from Amy V, and it is SUPER CUTE!! I have always heard people say that they love handmade cards better than store-bought ones, and now I can say that is a FACT! When you get a handmade card, you can see the time the creator took to make the card, and it makes you feel extra special.
This card uses the stamp set from Stampin' Up! The More the Merrier, which is a hostess set. Order $500 or more in product and you can get one too!

Isn't this a great card? The photo is not too shabby either, right? I FINALLY got the settings right on my new Samsung 10.2MP 5x Optical Zoom Camera. I thought I had changed a setting that I shouldn't have, and I did. All is well now, and the photos it takes are great! I was very close to the card, as you can tell, which is what I want. I don't want the dead space around the card. The card is the star! So, now I have a camera that will allow me to do just that!

Before I sign off, I want to share some other store-bought Christmas cards and photo cards with you. The reason is the designs. Have you ever stopped to look at the cards in the store just for the inspiration? Well look at these cards and think about how easy they would be to make using your own supplies. Imagine how much better they would look with dimension and layers.

This first card is a photo card of my cousin Valerie's daughters, Presley and Stella Kayte. This could be easily recreated using designer series paper. You could use photos or not. I like the detail around the squares with a sketched line, which could also just be a distressed mat behind the photo.

The next few cards are full of inspiration too! Use these ideas for scrapbook pages and mini albums too! My cousin Valerie loves to applique and embroider (the machine kind). How cute would the "be merry" card be appliqued onto a shirt using festive materials? See, inspiration is all around us for every craft!

Thanks for stopping by today. I'll be making cards using these ideas all along, so look for them! How do you like the Wintery Blog title?
